Kamoot Tilad Literary Portfolio Vol. 1 Issue 4
of Ateneo Literary Association (ALA)

"At Walang Pag-ibig" is a poem of Jusan Misolas, the head of the Poetry Guild of ALA who is generous enough to let me sit-in in their sessions. Hehe, I just love listening to their discourse about poetry and their sample readings are one of the most interesting poems I've read.

This one is untitled. Just one of my first attempts at coloring and it is a bit awkward but people seems to like it, so be it. (though they do think my nymphs are into orgy or something). Notwithstanding the eros, I still like it.

This one is from Kaabtan Tilad Literary Portfolio Vol. 1 Issue 4
of Ateneo Literary Association (ALA)

I've provided the illustration for Ma'am Ahj's poem "Inches" which also happen to be my favorite piece in this issue.

Originally made as black and white, "A Letter with Red Strings Attached" is dedicated to the most crazy person I have the privilege of ever unfortunately getting acquainted with. We both know we were insane and that suited us just fine.

Also acknowledgement for Tina for the colors, I love her colors as usual :']

This is my last entry for Kasagkoran Tilad Literary Portfolio Vol. 1 Issue 3
of Ateneo Literary Association (ALA)

"Kasagkoran" is the Bikol term for end, since this online portfolio was published December 2012, with the "End of The World" thing looming (which kinda happens every month for the past year[irritating really] I wonder how many times Earth's gonna die, I mean, it is already dying, isn't it? [slowly and degradingly painful to see] Anyway---) so our group thought of taking it literally in a literary way.

So we have our third issue with cover artist Kuya Ken Esperanza and the rest of the organization as contributor. It was fun!

This one here is "Deception". I work with the irony and naivety of a child wearing a monster's mask. Hm, let's see, I don't know, it's just that, I've always thought that there's a greater possibility for a child to challenge the supernaturals, for them to respect the things they can't understand, because unlike adults---children always believe what they see.

That's why I always find it adorable for a child to tell their stories of sprites and monsters and claws and light. Again, I used ink and paper, and again, I also have to thank Kuya Pen for the colors. I love what he did!

Kudos for Kuya Pen for the photo manipulation! I am not confident yet of my hands on colors. As far as I can remember I tend to kill my works with dull colors and mismatched hues. Afterall I've always been proud of my inked works of black and white.

This one is Loki's Hand, I am fond of Norse Mythology way back when I've first read it in my encyclopedia volumes (the only reasonable reads I can find back home---those paintings and arts from encyclopedias were one of the best!) and I have incorporated Bikol Mythology with the story of "Sadab" or the enormous bird that guards the giant tree in the middle of Mount Asog. Kinda reminds me of Yggdrasil, afterall, it is Loki who is the main actor for the death of world tree in Norse Mythology (Ragnarok).

This work was used for Jerome Hipolito's "Kasagkudan", again another amazing Bikol poetry which tells about the end.

I've used a 5-point pen and substance 20 paper. Any lighter paper and my ink tend to drench the whole page! I have a little help from Kuya Pen who edited my work in photoshop. He also helped me a lot in most of my works.

I've named this "Leaves" because it is one. I like trees. If you spend enough time with paper, pencils and more papers, you would eventually fall for them. Which is a dilemma if you consider how much I've wasted already, just to satiate my compulsion to draw and read.

As for the poetry, I love everything! It is so simple and yet it let you sink in as it tells you her sentiments. The language is Bikol, so only those who understand our local language can understand and I am definitely not good at translating.
